Cooper Brothers Once Again Among State's Best
Cooper Brothers is pleased to announce that we have once again been chosen by the publication Business Alabama as one of the "Top General Contractors" in the state of Alabama. This marks the sixth consecutive year that Cooper Brothers has been chosen for this honor.

Cooper Brothers Adds Two New Members to Team
After the recent passing of Essie the cat, the beloved 'boss of the office,'  Cooper Brothers Construction was fortunate to be in a position to add two new members into the CBCC family; our dog Bella and the cat Deuce.  Both 'rescue' animals, it appears that all stray animals that are fortunate enough to reach our office gates, go from being in the 'outhouse' to the 'penthouse' very quickly.

Please be sure to stop in and introduce yourself to the newest members!

Cooper Brothers Among South East and National Best
Cooper Brothers was recently recognized by American Building Company as a leader in the National Market and Southeast Regional Market for the 2008 year for American Building Company dealers.  Cooper Brothers was also recognized as a 2008 member of the "Million Dollar Club"; an honor given to the dealers who exceed one million dollar in sales of pre-engineered metal buildings.

Tom Bolton, President of Cooper Brothers, Leads Aggressive Revitalization Movement in Selma, AL
Sunrise Selma, a local, grassroots movement in Selma, Alabama was created by Tom Bolton and several other citizens in Selma to revitalize the private sector, while restoring the architectural beauty to many of Selma's historic buildings in an effort to improve overall quality of life for the citizens of Selma. http://www.sunriseselma.com/

Cooper Brothers Completes Jobs
The new Bibb County High School in Centreville, Alabama and the Re-roofing project for the Selma Interpretive Center in Selma, Alabama have been completed. The projects, both designed and administered by McKee and Associates Architects in Montgomery, Alabama were completed this spring.

Cooper Brothers Once Again Recognized by Business Alabama as one of the "Top 100 Contractors" In Alabama
We are pleased to announce that we have been recognized again as a "Top Contractor" for 2008 by Business Alabama.  Additionally, we were selected as on of the Top 75 Contractors among contractors located in Alabama, Arkansas, Tennessee and Mississippi in the 'Inaugural Edition' of South Central Construction Magazine in 2005.

Cooper Brothers Renovates Former Dallas Compress Building.
Millennium Properties, LLC of Selma recently acquired one of the former Dallas Compress Buildings in historic downtown Selma.  The facility is a thirty-five thousand square foot metal building that was previously used for storage.  One of the main reasons for Millennium purchasing this building was because Cooper Brothers actually built this facility in the early 1980's; therefore Millennium knew the quality of this building.  The building, located at the corner of Water Avenue and Maxey Street, is currently being renovated and will soon be available to be rented.  Anyone interested in this building, please contact Steven South at Cooper Brothers Construction in Selma, Alabama.

Cooper Brothers low bidder on new Autauga County High School in
some of the closest bidding seen in recent years.

On Thursday June 19th bids were opened in the offices of the Autauga County Board of Education for a replacement high school and Cooper Brothers Construction of Selma was low with a bid of $12,340,346.00, some $18,000.00 lower than the second place bidder. “Wow” was all that Vice President Jimmy Elliott (who delivered the bid) could say. He was right as our bid was less than one quarter of one percent less than second place. That was some kind of tight bidding! The project which is a 91,000 square foot state of the art high school with new gymnasium and cafeteria/auditorium appears to be in budget and contracts are being prepared. Calvin Ross who recently completed the Clarke County High School Project will be the Project Superintendent, Jay Nielsen will be the Project Manager and Steven South is the Schedule Coordinator. McKee and Associates is the architect and Terry Chestnutt is the project inspector.  Special recognition goes to the Estimating department for a great job and to all of our suppliers and subcontractors for winning prices and cooperation. Like the proverbial dog chasing the car, now that we have caught it – we have to build it so times a wasting and very short –These folks want to open in August of 2009 so let’s get rolling! Construction is scheduled to begin immediately. Great job by everyone – Congratulations!

Cooper Brothers Selected as General Contractor for Renovations to First Baptist Church-Selma, AL

Cooper Brothers has been selected as general contractors for the
First Baptist Church Selma -Renovations
to various church facilities. This approximate $2-3 million dollar project will involve a number of local subcontractors, suppliers and tradespeople and is designed by Turner Batson Architects of Birmingham. Current plans are to finalize budgets and get underway sometime in the Fall. We are excited about being selected for this project and look forward to working again for an old and valued client. Thank you First Baptist Church of Selma!

Cooper Brothers Selected as General Contractor for the Hampton Inn-Jackson, AL

We are pleased to announce we have been selected as General Contractor for the new Hampton Inn in Jackson, Alabama. This seventy bed, three story, state of the art structure will be a great addition to Jackson and we are looking forward to a late summer or fall start pending plan approvals and financing issues being resolved. The community has worked hand in hand with us in bringing this development to Jackson and we want to thank everyone who has had a hand in making this project a reality. We feel like this is only the beginning of the growth we forsee in Clarke County for our company and we in fact are negotiating with several other prospective clients in Jackson at the moment. We hope to have more announcements soon.

All of this activity is, in our opinion, related either directly or indirectly to the Thyssen Krupp Steel Mill, which is located immediately to the south of Jackson and is already under construction. Touted as the largest economic development project in the world currently underway we feel like this is an area poised for development and explosive growth.
