Letter of Recommendation

To Whom It May Concern:

Cooper Brothers Construction has been an excellent design/build contractor for the new plant we are building in Selma, Al.

We invited three design/build/CM firms to submit proposals on this project and Cooper Brothers gave us the best price and the best plan for meeting our objectives.  This plant needed to be completed in less than 6 months from the issuing of the build contract and Cooper Brothers has been able to meet this requirement. In fact they are currently ahead of schedule.

They also assisted us in designing the building to meet the existing state environmental requirements as well as offering suggestions to improve the unloading of our raw materials.  Their capabilities, knowledge of the area and relationship with the local trades has made this project one of the smoothest that we have experienced to date.

Their excellent management of this project has allowed us to monitor the project from afar with only minimal visits to the plant site during the construction phase.

On a personal level, Tom Bolton and his staff have been very easy to work with and have helped introduce us to other businesses in the area to meet our ongoing manufacturing needs.  They have been able to answer all our questions in an honest, timely, and straight forward manner.

I would highly recommend Cooper Brothers Construction to anyone contemplating a building project.

     Sincerely,

Place Nursing & Rehabilitation Center
100 Park Place
Selma Alabama 36701

April 15, 2004
I am writing this letter as a recommendation of Cooper Brothers Construction Company.

I am the president and co-owner of Park Place Nursing and Rehabilitation Center here in Selma and we recently completed construction of a 62,000 square foot new state-of-the-art facility. The project budget exceeded 6 million dollars and Cooper Brothers was our General Contractor.

We negotiated this project with them rather than accepting bids and they were invaluable to us in the project planning and budgeting stages as well as during the construction process. They have CAD capabilities and we spent countless hours with them reworking the drawings until we got them to our satisfaction. We then worked with them and their team of subcontractors through a long and arduous budget process. They did value engineering and worked through many redesigns until we reached a final product that was not only within budget but met our needs in every way.

Once the construction process began they moved immediately onsite and commenced operations. Even though we had record rainfall and inclement weather during the initial stages of the project they never let up and did their best to keep us on schedule.

We made some major changes to the design over the course of the project and again they were there for us – providing design ideas, suggestions and budget assistance, affording us the ability to make the right choices with respect to the new Hospice wing we wanted to add.

This was a very complex project with multiple rooms and finishes and systems and they proved to me that they are capable of handling even the most difficult and complex of projects and doing so in a fair and equitable manner.

This was a big job and it had a number of challenges – but I always found them more than willing to go the extra mile to meet our needs and get the job done.

We have been in our facility for several months now and they are prompt in responding to the minor punchlist type items that always arise on a major construction project. A nursing home is a 24/7 facility and we have called them at all hours – they have always responded and it’s my opinion that this is the true measure of a general contractor –when the project is over and how they service their warranty. They have more than lived up to our expectations and continue to do so.

I have found them to be honest, forthright and always willing to respond to any situation that has arisen over the course of this project.

I have built a number of projects over the years and worked with many contractors but none that have shown me the professionalism of this company.

It’s my considered opinion that you could not find a better general contractor for your project than Cooper Brothers.

Sincerely;
Fred Wood

Re: Letter of Recommendation

To Whom It May Concern:

Cooper Brothers Construction has been an excellent design/build contractor for the expansion of the Industrial Development Board building which houses the New-Era Cap Company in Jackson, Alabama.  We received bids from many excellent companies. Cooper Brothers was awarded the contracted based on the best price and the fact they were committed to completing the job in the very short timeframe that New-Era Cap Company required.  This was a $1.2 million expansion and the contract was completed ahead of schedule and Tom Bolton, CEO of Cooper Brothers, presented a $50,000 check to the city for funds not spent.  The quality project was delivered ahead of the tight schedule and money was refunded to the city of Jackson. Since the New-Era Cap building expansion, Tom Bolton and Cooper Brothers have gotten involved in other projects in the city.

They have committed to building an $8.5 million Hampton Inn and Suites Hotel in Jackson.  This will be the first multi- story hotel in our city.  Plans are in the works for other business and development surrounding the Hampton Hotel.  Cooper Brothers is also opening an office in Jackson and is actively recruiting other companies needed for the expanding business in Jackson due to the Thyssen Krupp steel plant 30 miles south of Jackson.  Cooper Brothers is an excellent corporate citizen of Jackson. On a personal level, Tom Bolton and his staff have become my personal friends and they are an exceptional company to do business with.  They have an excellent communications system which includes internet, email, land lines, and cell phone lines and you can always reach the company on one of these communication links.  I sincerely believe Cooper Brothers Construction is committed to promoting Jackson, Alabama and making it a quality community for all of our citizens and prospective citizens.  I would highly recommend Cooper Brothers Construction to anyone contemplating a building project.

Sincerely,
Mayor Richard Long

To whom it may Concern

This is a letter of recommendation for Cooper Bros. Construction. I was the Project and Process Engineer involved in the construction and commissioning of a plant in Selma Alabama for Louisiana Pacific Corp.

This was a very fast track project, which involved a great deal of organization and a large amount of resources. This company has earned my respect as a company that can get things done. This project went from a shell of a building to a production facility in 5 months. This could not have been accomplished without the total commitment of the people involved, of which Cooper Bros Construction was a large part.

This Project also was accomplished with no safety incidents, which is also a commendable record, taking in to account the amount of equipment and manpower involved in the project. I have absolutely no problem in saying, that this company was a large part of the success of this project. I would certainly consider this company for any project I had in the future where their expertise was required.

Just as footer, this company impressed me with its flexibility and total commitment to the project schedule, even to the point of changing the way they do things, to get the job done on time. They would question things, but still nothing was ever too much trouble. Their can-to attitude is what impressed us the most.

AmSouth Bank of Selma
Edward S. McCurdy Jr., Selma City President

June 21, 2005

To Whom It May Concern:
During 2003, Cooper Brothers Construction Company constructed a remote drive-thru for AmSouth Bank at the corner of Broad Street and Citizens Parkway in Selma.  Construction began in early 2003 and we opened for business in November.  We were very satisfied with the quality of work and the attention given to us from the company’s officers as well as the project manager.  Even with the adverse weather conditions we experienced during the construction phase, the project was completed in a timely manner.

Cooper Brothers Construction Company is considered to be the top commercial contractor in this area and we are fortunate to be able to handle their banking relationship.  They currently have a sizable deposit relationship as well as a good credit relationship with AmSouth Bank.  We have enjoyed being a customer of Cooper Brothers and enjoy having them as one of our key customers.

Sincerely,

Edward S. McCurdy, Jr.

The Epworth House
Methodist Homes for the Aging
2500 Franklin Street
Selma, Alabama  36703

July 18, 2008

To Whom It May Concern:

I am writing this letter of recommendation in appreciation for the professionalism
and outstanding service shown to the staff and residents of Epworth House by Cooper
Brothers Construction Company.

Cooper Brothers began working with us in January of this year to install a fire
sprinkler system in our facility.  The projected time to accomplish this major
undertaking was four (4) months.  This was a massive undertaking with consideration
made for 48 apartments and the residents living in those units.  Work began the
first of February and completion was June 6, 2008 just as we were originally told.

I cannot commend Steven South and all of his staff and crew enough for the
outstanding job they did at Epworth House.  There were some challenging
opportunities we had to tackle during this project but all were handled with a
prompt and courteous attitude from everyone associated with Cooper Brothers.  I
never contacted Steven with an issue that I did not receive immediate and positive
action.  There was always a genuine concern for the residents and any displacement
they had to endure while this work was being done.  These are elderly people and
some with serious medical problems who were shown that their convenience, health and
safety always came first.  And it did. I feel Steven went above and beyond to make
sure everything went as smooth as possible.  Someone was always available should any
problems or issues arise and were only a phone call away.  We went through this
entire project without any unresolved issues to the complete satisfaction of
everyone concerned.

My thanks and appreciation goes to each of you at Cooper Brothers for a job well
done.  I can recommend your company to anyone without any reservations.

Sincerely,

Betty Dunkin
